Video Production (Service)
Basically, the entire process of making a video is called video production. The method may differ slightly depending on the specifics, but it is essentially the same whether it is a short film, a full-length film, a company marketing video, a television commercial, a music video, or another genre of film.
A documentary film, a non-fiction kind of media that dates back to the 1920s, can be made with the intention to inform, convey, raise awareness of, enlighten, convince, or simply satisfy curiosity.
It may seem that we have previously discussed this based solely on the title. And while any of the aforementioned video forms can certainly provide information, we specifically refer to brief, concise movies that provide information rapidly when we use the term "informational videos."
Promotional videos are intended to appeal to a very specific audience by discussing a product's features or in some other way laying out the case for why the product is a wise investment. These videos should not be confused with advertisements like you would see during the Super Bowl (which tend to fall more into the entertainment category).
It's possible that when you hear the phrase "educational DVDs," memories of your elementary school days come flooding back. Back then, the teacher would bring in the tube TV and VCR for a droning, blurry demonstration of photosynthesis. Although technically speaking, this is an instructive video, the genre encompasses much more than that.
